AK Industrial Services utilized UHP water to perform hand-held hydrodemolition in the Ted Williams Tunnel to remove vertical concrete from around a 12” diameter standpipe.
A standpipe is a pipe system that delivers water to sprinklers and hose connections to fire systems. In the Ted Williams Tunnel, the standpipe system is located within the walls of the tunnel, surrounded by concrete. In order to access the standpipe for repairs, the original concrete needs to removed. Handheld hydrodemolition is an ideal application for this job.
