In May 2025, AK Industrial Services attended the MassDOT Transportation Innovation Conference in Worcester, MA, as an exhibitor. AK was able to share the benefits of hydrodemolition, its applications, and its potential for future projects with other attendees.
AK Industrial Services had the opportunity to be an exhibitor at the International Concrete Repair Institute‘s (ICRI) Spring 2024 convention in Boston, MA.
The theme of the Spring 2024 Convention was “Transportation: Roadways, Bridges, and Tunnels.” Since its founding in 1992, AKIS has performed hydrodemolition on numerous bridges and tunnels, so this convention’s theme was especially relevant to AKIS.

Water jet contractor AK Services made history by cutting the largest-ever access hole in an active U.S. Department of Energy radioactive waste storage tank at the DOEās Hanford Site in southeastern Washington. The Boston-area water jet contractor cut a 55-inch diameter hole in the top of the underground tank to allow for the installation of a robotic system that will remove 247,000 gallons of radioactive and chemical waste stored in the tank during the Manhattan Project and Cold War so it can be vitrified for safer storage.
