Suffolk Downs MBTA Platform Hydrodemolition

AK Industrial Services, LLC performed hydrodemolition on Suffolk Downs MBTA station during a weekend surge. AKIS worked straight through the weekend to remove 675 SF of concrete to a depth of 4″ from the subway platform. Working on or near MBTA tracks necessitates a surge; in order to complete the work during the surge work window, AKIS worked 24/7 shifts from Friday night into Monday morning.

AKIS also removed the rubble and used hydrodemolition water from the site with a vacuum truck. The water was deposited into frac tanks and hauled off site for disposal.
